The Leeds Asylum Seeker Support Network (LASSN) is hosting two training sessions this May for people concerned about immigration detention.

These sessions are aimed at people at risk of detention themselves, as well as people who support them. Places are limited. If we cannot fit you into these sessions, we will keep you informed of future events. So please book now if you want to attend.

Workshop 1: Preparing in Case of Detention

7th May 14:00 – 16:00

at LASSN – Oak House, Park Lane LS3 1EL

Anyone who does not yet have the right to remain in the UK is at risk of detention. Living in this situation causes stress and anxiety, but there are lots of things you can do. This workshop is for anyone who is worried about detention – for yourself or someone else – with information and advice on various things that you do.

LASSN will get in touch to confirm your place by Friday 19th April 2019

Workshop 2: Campaigning for Change

14 May, 14:00 – 16:00

at LASSN – Oak House, Park Lane LS3 1EL

We need people to speak out. The people who know most about detention are those who are directly impacted: anyone who has been detained, or is at risk of detention, and their friends, families, supporters. These expert voices must be heard, and must be at the centre of campaigning, but we know it can be difficult to speak out. This training will help you to learn and share ideas and skills for making change happen.
